Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect during my first visit?
During your first visit to our Redmond Spa, you will be welcomed by our friendly staff and asked to fill out a brief health questionnaire.
Your therapist will then discuss your needs and preferences to tailor the session to you.
You will be given privacy to undress to your comfort level and lie on the massage table, covered by a sheet.
The therapist will only uncover the area being worked on to ensure your comfort and privacy.
Do I need to undress completely?
You should undress to your comfort level.
We recommend that clients leave their underwear on during the massage.
Your therapist will ensure you are properly draped with a sheet at all times, exposing only the area being worked on.
How often should I get a massage?
The frequency of massages depends on your individual needs and goals.
For general wellness, once a month is beneficial.
If you have specific issues such as chronic pain or high-stress levels, more frequent sessions, such as once a week, may be recommended.
What if I feel pain during the massage?
It is essential to communicate with your therapist if you feel any discomfort or pain during the massage.
They can adjust the pressure and technique to ensure your comfort.
A good massage should not cause pain, although some discomfort can occur with deep tissue work.
Can I get a massage if I have a medical condition?
It depends on the condition.
Some medical conditions may require a doctor’s approval before receiving a massage.
Please let us know of any health issues or medications you are currently taking when booking your appointment so we can determine the best course of action.
What are those knots in my muscles?
The “knots” you feel are areas of muscle tension or trigger points.
These are small, tight areas within the muscle that can cause pain and discomfort.
Regular massage can help reduce these knots and improve muscle function.
What should I do if I feel uncomfortable during my massage?
Always speak up if you feel uncomfortable at any point during your massage.
Whether it’s the pressure, temperature, or any other aspect, your therapist will make adjustments to ensure you have a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Will the massage oils cause me to break out?
We use high-quality, hypoallergenic massage oils and lotions.
If you have sensitive skin or allergies, please let us know in advance so we can use a suitable product.
What if I fall asleep during my massage?
Falling asleep during a massage is entirely normal and a sign that you are relaxed.
Don’t worry about it; your therapist will continue the session and make sure you get the full benefit of the massage.
How long does a typical massage session last?
A standard full-body massage session lasts about 60 minutes.
We also offer 90-minute sessions for a more in-depth experience.
Shorter sessions, such as 30 minutes, are available for targeted treatments like Gua Sha.
Can I get a massage if I'm pregnant?
Yes, we offer prenatal massages that are specifically designed for pregnant women.
These massages can help alleviate common discomforts associated with pregnancy.
Please inform us if you are pregnant when booking your appointment.
What should I do before and after my massage?
Before your massage, it’s best to hydrate and avoid heavy meals.
After your massage, continue to drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins released during the session.
Take it easy and allow your body to relax, absorbing the benefits of the massage. Of course, you are always welcome to contact us if you have any other questions.
